ABOUT US

Who are we ?

Welcome to Birdalia, a platform dedicated to discovering the fascinating world of birds 💚

Birdalia was born from a passion for travel, nature, and more specifically ornithology. Through this website, we aim to highlight the richness of the avian world, share our perspective on biodiversity, and inspire everyone to go out and discover birds, whether in France or around the world. Whether you are a curious beginner, a wildlife photographer, or a passionate ornithologist, Birdalia is a space for exploration open to everyone.

On Birdalia, you will find:

  • birdwatching guides to observe birds independently,

  • trip reports and travel stories,

  • a photo gallery to explore the beauty of birds through images,

  • educational games to learn while having fun,

  • as well as a blog featuring articles dedicated to birds and biodiversity conservation.

Our goal is simple:

  • 🐦 make birdwatching accessible to everyone,

  • 🐦 encourage a respectful approach to nature,

  • 🐦 share our passion for these incredible feathered creatures.

Observe, listen, slow down… and rediscover your surroundings through birdwatching.

Guillaume VS.

Software Developer. Birdwatcher and Amateur Wildlife Photographer.

Passionate about ornithology for several years, I enjoy sharing my field experiences, observations, and images, while also creating tools and guides accessible to everyone to help discover the fascinating world of birds. I deeply believe that birdwatching is a key to reconnecting with oneself and discovering the world around us. It is a calming practice that teaches us to slow down, observe, and gain perspective in a world that is constantly moving faster.

My favorite bird: The Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis). It is one of the most brightly colored birds in Europe and the one that first sparked my passion for discovering the world of birds.

Mathilde J.

PhD in Ecology. Birdwatcher.

With a PhD in ecology, specializing in the study of mosquitoes and snails, and a deep passion for ornithology, I co-founded Birdalia with the desire to share my scientific knowledge and raise awareness about the protection of wildlife and ecosystems. Nature is both my field of research and my refuge. Through Birdalia, I aim to show how precious, fragile, and fascinating biodiversity is, and to encourage everyone to take a closer look at the living world around us.

My favorite bird: The European Robin (Erithacus rubecula). I am fascinated by this little ball of feathers. I truly believe that we should continue to marvel at birds like this one, even if they are common and sometimes quite tame.
